Meet Chris Hafer: Strauss Troy’s Newest Legal Assistant in Cincinnati
Strauss Troy is thrilled to welcome Christopher C. Hafer as our newest litigation legal assistant in the Cincinnati office. We're excited to have Chris join the team and asked him to share a bit about himself below.
Q: Where are you from?
A: Cincinnati (Colerain), Ohio
Q: Can you share a little about your background and what brought you into this field?
A: I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a desire to go into law enforcement. A physical defect in my ankle forced me to quit the police academy after only 2 weeks. From there, I remained in the service industry for several years as a bartender and server. I had several attorneys who were lunch regulars that I got to talking to and decided to go into a continuing education program to obtain my paralegal certificate in Kennesaw, Georgia. I completed the one-year program in only 8 months while working full-time.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about your role here at Strauss Troy?
A: I am excited to see what business litigation has to offer and believe it will be more rewarding than my previous experience in other fields.
Q: What’s a professional achievement you’re proud of?
A: In estate planning, I was responsible for placing real estate in trust. I recorded over 2,500 deeds and other instruments in a single year.
Q: What’s something you’re passionate about in your work?
A: I believe in hitting deadlines in a timely manner. I do not like to procrastinate as that often leads to a backlog of your workload. I believe in being punctual and efficient.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: Recently, I have been a big fan of Korean BBQ and Thai food.
Q: Describe your perfect weekend.
A: I like to be outside as much as I can. I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend/significant other of nearly 17 years, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I would say a perfect weekend would also include some time doing lawn care/gardening and woodworking projects.
Q: What’s something unique about you that others might not know?
A: I actually have a mild case of Tourette syndrome (motor, not verbal LOL). Most people have no idea until I tell them.
